Manual massage is mostly applied aspect of passive kinesitherapy applied by a therapeutist through a system of methodic movements of hands - grips, on a patient as a passive object. Lymph and vein blood flow is increased, active hyperemia of areteriolae and capillaries arises in tissues, local metabolism is increased as well as elimination of disintegrated metabolic products, excretory activity of sebaceous and sweat glands, turgor and elasticity of skin is increased, overall fatigue is decreased and it is relaxing and sedative.
Diseases and conditions when lymph manual massage is not recommended are as follows: elevated body temperature, acute contagious diseases, acute festering processes, haemorrhage and inclination to haemorrhage, extremely expanded veins, thromboflebitis, malignant tumors, skin diseases.
