Nuclear medicine is a branch of medicine engaged in diagnostics and treatment of diseases by using radioactive isotopes.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES

1. Thyroid gland disorders
     - Check-up by a nuclear medicine specialist doctor;
     - Laboratory examinations (TT4, TT3, ultrasensitive TSH, FT4, anti-TgAb, anti-TPOAb, calcitonin, thyroglobulin, PTH, TSH-receptor antibodies -TRAb);
     - Thyroid gland EHO–GENERAL ELECTRIC LOGIQ 3 PRO with two probes  (linear  and convex), GENERAL ELECTRIC 100 with one probe (linear) and  ALOKA 500 portable apparatus with two probes  (linear  and convex)
     - Thyroid gland scintigraphy (Tc-99m) - gamma camera;
     - Fixation test I-131 in thyroid gland (after 3 and after 24 h);
     - Thyroid gland punctuation biopsy with a thin needle (FNA);
     - Postoperative scintigraphy of the whole body with  I-131 (in thyroid gland malignity)

2. Diseases of other systems
     - Skeletal system scintigraphy (Tc-DPD)
     - Liver coloid scintigraphy (Tc-Sn-coloid)
     - Liver blood pool (Tc-Er)
     - Dynamic scintigraphy (Tc-DTPA)
     - GFR determination (Tc-DTPA)
     - Kidneys static scintigraphy (Tc-DMSA)
     - Salivary glands scintigraphy (Tc-99m)

3. Osteodensitometry (DEXA)
     - skeletal density check -up aimed at osteoporosis diagnostics

THERAPY PROCEDURES

 1.  Therapy dose application I-131 aimed at hyperthyrosis treatment
 2.  Application of therapy and ablative dose I-131 in the patients after surgery due to  differentiated thyroid gland carcinoma
